THIS IS AN ARCHIVED PRESS RELEASE AND IS DISPLAYED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY

FREE Microsoft training aimed at improving the work skills across Barnsley is now available.

Thanks to Barnsley Council’s successful bid to the Microsoft Britain Works scheme, the borough has won 50,000 vouchers for Microsoft Essential Skills, 3,000 vouchers for Microsoft Business Worker and 1,500 vouchers for Microsoft Technical Specialist courses.

People eligible for this training are those out of work, in vulnerable work such as temporary contracts or apprenticeship schemes, employees of small to medium business enterprises, young people and school leavers.

Not only will this free training enhance people’s skills and allow them to improve their CVs, but it’s also an opportunity to improve the skills base of the Barnsley economy as a whole.

The training is online and people will be able to complete the course in a learning centre, where support is around when needed.
