Welcome to the Environmental Control Team homepage. Our role is to help improve the cleanliness of Barnsley and to protect the public health of Barnsleys residents and visitors. We are part of Regulatory Services, and are made up of three teams :
Environmental Regulatory Unit (ERU)
Responsible for educating, investigating, and enforcing against :
Litter
Dog Fouling
Abandoned Vehicles
and we also run the Councils Dog Warden Service.
For any commercial or domestic waste problems please contact us to discuss. If we cannot help you directly we can refer you to the appropriate department.
For abandoned shopping trolleys please call the supermarket responsible who will come to collect them. If you do not know where the trolley is from please see our Abandoned Trolley information
