Area Partnerships is the council’s approach to delivering services at a neighbourhood level, providing Barnsley's residents with an opportunity to shape the services delivered on their doorstep. Barnsley borough has five Area Partnerships: Central, North, North East, South East and South West, each covering an area of four to five wards. Each Area Partnerships brings together a wide range of representatives such as local elected councillors, council services and external partners from other agencies including Berneslai Homes, police, fire and rescue service, primary care trust, NHS Barnsley and members from the community and voluntary sectors.
